Jack Ambro
(b. 1994)

Jack Ambro is a Scotland-based contemporary printmaker working primarily in large-scale linocut. His practice centres on hand-carved relief prints produced in deliberately small editions.

Through meticulous carving and controlled mark-making, Ambro pushes the technical limits of linocut to achieve heightened, hyper-real surfaces. While rooted in realism, the work carries a restrained surreal tension, using precision and scale to disrupt familiarity and intensify perception.

Each print is carved and printed entirely by hand, embracing the slow and irreversible nature of the medium as an essential part of the work’s physical and conceptual presence.
